Our featured speakers for 2017 are Yao Cheng of Columbus, Chris Glass of Cincinnati and Jen Hewett of San Francisco. Read more about them here! You can see the past con’s speakers here, and the rest of our speaker lineup will be solidified in the fall. If you’ve got an idea for a talk you’d like to give, fill out this form! We’re accepting speaker proposals until Oct. 1.

Midwest Craft Con is a creative business conference by nature, but it is also a weekend that celebrates making things and making friends. You’ll collect practical business, community and life tips from our expert speakers, but you’ll also get to make connections with your fellow crafters during the meal breaks and the after-hours craftivities. We aim to make this conference participatory, where everyone is encouraged to make something special happen — whether it’s organizing a degree-granting googly eye program or gathering people with common interests to get lunch together. The connections people made at the first con are still going strong in our Facebook group and out in the Midwest and the rest of the world. We’re planning to make Oct. 22 a day of Midwest Craft Con parties and meetups across the country — stay tuned for more details!
